| POWER is funded primarily by Allegheny
County Department of Human Services, Bureau of Drug & Alcohol
Services; Pennsylvania’s HealthChoices program through contracts
with its behavioral health managed care organizations for Medical
Assistance recipients; and private donations. On a case-by-case
basis, funding is sometimes provided by health insurance companies,
and a sliding-fee scale is used for determining the cost to self-pay
clients. Additionally, the agency raises money through grant writing,
individual donations and special events like the Annual POWER PROMISES
Event. For information on how you can help support POWER’s
mission, view How
You Can Help.
